Community Garden Update

The Cauliflower and Broccoli are gone and have been tilled and planted with summer squash and sweet potatoes.

Sweet potatoes are new to us; we were able to trade some pepper plants for the sweet potato slips. Sweet potatoes grow on a vine, and where the vine leans down and touches the ground is where the potatoes grow. This area is called a 'drawer.' The vine will then grow on from the drawer to repeat the process over and over. A jungle of vines! Sweet potatoes take around 100 days to mature.

We have begun harvesting the Bravo Cabbage. Please take only the largest.

Pole Beans have been planted. Thank you to Harry Summerlin who erected the bamboo trellises needed for this crop!
