Global Mission Prayer Partners for July

Thank you Global Mission Prayer Partners!

Each month we share prayer support for one of our Global Mission Partners. Prayer partners may choose to pray on a regular schedule-weekly or daily. The prayers can be for specific personal needs, as well as for the church and community. 

July prayer partners are matched with the folks who work for Healing Arts Mission in Haiti:

• Pat Cheffins is praying for Nurse Carmel who is the Head Nurse.
• Warren and Pam Riggle are praying for Dr. Jacques who is the Haitian Medical Director.
• Sally Booher is praying for Marvel who is an interpreter for Healing Arts Mission.
• Anne and Jerry Bergeron are praying for Reginal who is a driver for the HAM clinic.
• Ida Edge is praying for Charles who is the Haitian Director of Operations and also an Eye Technician.

Art from the Heart Auction | Thank You!

Last Sunday's auction raised $5,425! Thank you to everyone who contributed to and volunteered for this event, including Bill and Nancy Gettys. Proceeds benefit Healing Art Mission (HAM), and support will include education, social justice, and community heath, as well as primary medical

care to the 20,000 residents of the Dumay region in Haiti. 

If you still have art to pick up, Buzz Durham will have it with him on Sunday, during Worship.

Art From the Heart--Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who purchased art and generously donated time, money and delicious food to make the annual auction of Haitian art a big success.  Thanks to you, we got great publicity for the Centre de Santé Communautaire de Dumay in the Citizen-Times, adults and children learned about the challenges of helping Haitians help themselves, ... and we raised $9,503 in art sales and donations. The annual Art From the Heart auction to benefit the people of Haiti will be Sunday, March 2 from 9:00 until 1:30.  You can bid on beautiful works made by Haitian artists knowing that all the money raised from this event goes to the artists themselves or to fund Centre de Santé Communautaire de Dumay where Haitian doctors, nurses and staff provide the only health care available for a community of 20,000 people. Art From the Heart Auction Was a Huge Success!

Thanks to all the many volunteers, shoppers and donors who made the auction on April 14 a great success.  Your combined effort raised a total of $7,767.00, all of which will go to Haiti to help people there become more self sufficient: able to provide health care in their community or able to earn a living creating art.

Art From the Heart ~ Auction of Haitian Artwork: Sunday, April 14

Healing Art Missions provides the only health care available to the 20,000 residents of Dumay, a rural area just east of Port-au-Prince. By purchasing beautiful art or making a donation on Sunday, April 14, you can provide income to Haitian artists and funding for the Centre de Santé Communautaire de Dumay (Center for Community Health in Dumay) where two dozen Haitian doctors, nurses, lab techs and others provide treatment every day for the endemic cholera ravaging the area and all the ordinary health care needs of the community. Others at the Centre de Santé help prevent disease with community outreach, training and inexpensive clean water. Best of all, we are helping Haitians become self-sufficient. Learn more here:

December 16: Health Care in Haiti luncheon

Please stay after worship on Sunday, December 16, for a light Haitian-style lunch and a viewing of a new film about the work of Healing Art Missions in Haiti. Grace Covenant members have generously supported this work at auctions of Haitian art since 2007. This short film, produced by volunteers from Global Eyes Media, will show you the results of your gifts.
