Second Annual Feast to End Hunger September 16, at 6 PM :
This fun event highlights food insecurity in our area and how to remedy it. There will be veggies from
our enormous community garden, a roasted lamb (locally sourced and humanely dispatched), live mountain music, a food drive for the needy, information booths, and a letter-writing campaign to Congress urging them to preserve measures already in place to aid the Food-Insecure. For the kids, there will be instruments to play, storytelling under the trees, and "A Taste of the Garden" - a tour of the garden where they'll sample raw veggies (and dip) and learn about how we grow them and to whom they go after harvest. Vegetarian options will be available. We host it outside next to our community garden, and encourage folks to bring a lawn chair, along with their donation of food or money for the hungry, and a love offering to help cover the meal. This feast is open to everyone who eats!
