at a recent SERVE Council meeting. We think them important enough to
share with the congregation.
2-1-1 Referral Line. Dialing
2-1-1 will connect you with more than 18,000 services throughout North
Carolina for help with food, housing, & utilities, child care,
education, financial education, credit counseling, health care, job
training counseling and support groups, legal assistance,
mental health, substance abuse, senior services, volunteer
opportunities, disaster services and more. The free and confidential
information and referral service is available by phone and online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can serve any language. Also available at www.unitedwayabc.org/2-1-1 and www.nc.211.org).
“I
Pledge to Vote November 4” www.unitedwayabc.org/vote.. This non-partisan effort pulls together
information about voting in the November 4 election. Here you can find information and links on: how to register to vote, how to verify that you are registered, early voting sites, absentee voter
procedures, links to candidates’ pages, and more. As the website
says, “United Way is committed to the idea that when citizens give,
advocate and volunteer, our community is stronger. Voting is one way to
advocate.”
