Voting Rights Rally

September 3 Opportunity   Last weekend a number of our members participated in the Montreat Conference Center's "Dr. King's Unfinished Agenda" conference. The conference was held on the 50th anniversary weekend of Dr. Martin Luther King's speech in Anderson Auditorium in 1965. The conference leaders encourage faith communities to take a more active role in today's racial and civil rights issues. Inspired by the conference, some FPC-Asheville members are hoping to get a group together to attend the NAACP's Voting Rights Rally being held on Thursday, September 3 in Raleigh (start time approx. 5:00 PM). We have 6 or 7 members signed up to go on our 14-passenger van.  Would love to have some Grace Covenant folks to join us. We plan to leave from First Pres. about noon Thurs.,  attend the Rally and return by about midnight.  Cost will be about $50 or less if we get more than 10 people.
