Visit Guatemala / Get Involved in the Partnership

The Presbytery of Western North Carolina (PWNC) is forming a delegation for a visit to Guatemala June 4-11, 2013.  Prior to spending two days with partner churches, delegation members will spend several days in Antigua learning from Mission Co-Workers about Guatemalan history and current issues in education, health, government, etc.  They will also visit the Seminary and a cultural attraction such as a coffee plantation or Mayan ruin.  The heart of the trip is the visit to partner churches.  Our partner Jerusalem Church will welcome any Grace Covenant people with open arms.  The group will be led by two experienced PWNC leaders.

The cost will be $1,100 excluding personal preparation expenses (passport, immunizations, malaria pills, etc.).  A deposit of $700 must be sent with the application and received no later than March 15, 2013.  Make the check out to PWNC.  If the Presbytery is not able to accept your application, the deposit will be returned.  Once plane reservations are made, deposits become nonrefundable.  The final payment of $400 is due May 13.  An application and "Recommendation, Commitment, & Endorsement" form  to be completed by your Pastor and your Session must be in the Presbytery office by March 15, 2013.  Further information and forms are available at http://www.presbyterywnc.org/content/mission_zone/guatemala/documents/Guatemala_trip_application_2013.pdf.  Your Guatemala Partnership committee members provide further information about travel to our partner church.
