New Coordinator for Presbytery's Guatemala Partnership: Marie Palacios

We have a new coordinator!  Marie Connelly de Palacios has been selected for the job of guiding and coordinating Guatemala Partnership efforts in the Presbytery of Western North Carolina, a position ably filled for many years by the Rev. Ellen Dozier.  Formerly executive director of Catawba County Hispanic Ministry/Centro Latino in Hickory, Marie has years of experience working with nonprofit organizations and educational outreach programs and she's a certified court interpreter in Spanish.  Plus, she views her life's journey as led by God.

In addition to her work with our Presbytery, Marie has another new job:  executive director of Exploring Joara Foundation.  Located near Morganton, Joara was an indigenous village and site of Fort San Juan, an active archaeological site where a 16th-century Spanish fort is currently being excavated.

Welcome, Marie!
